The officers and members of Iron Workers Local 172 are gold-standard iron workers and experts in every aspect of the ironworking industry. Members of Iron Workers 172, a “mixed” local union, are trained and experienced in every aspect of the ironworking industry.
Chartered in Columbus, Ohio on June 7, 1915, Iron Workers Local 172 members and apprentices are highly skilled, well-trained, and drug-free structural iron workers, ornamental iron workers, and rodmen. “Working together and using all the tools at our disposal, including IMPACT, journeyman upgrade training and a constantly improving apprentice program, we maintain the solid foundation built by our forefathers and brothers,” says Benton M. Amburgey Jr., Financial Secretary-Treasurer and Business Manager of Iron Workers Local 172.
